The team... The family...

Jamie Court

I am a postgraduate student at the University of Southampton who started in September 2014. Under the supervison of  Dr Diego Altamirano, my main research area concerns low mass X-Ray binary systems, particularly focusing on how such systems behave when accreting at rates near the Eddington limit. I earned my undergraduate degree in Physics with Astronomy at the University of Southampton, where my master's project subject was the emission of gravitons from hypothetical micro black holes in the Large Hadron Collider.

I am also involved in undergraduate teaching, having demonstrated for the Python computing portion of the course 'PHYS2022: Physics from Evidence I' in Semester 1 of 2014/2015, and for 'PHYS2006: Classical Mechanics' in Semester 2 of 2014/2015.
